There is an opening for a Safety Administrator to provide support at our both generation facilities; Spiritwood Station and Coal Creek Station.
General Summary and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include developing, coordinating and administering safety, health, security and industrial hygiene related programs by evaluating risk, establishing appropriate training and loss control/reduction activities. Assists each plant manager in achieving safety, health and security and business objectives. And ensure compliance with GRE NERC and Homeland Security requirements.
Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
• Five years of professional safety/health experience including OSHA regulations, accident prevention, investigation and analysis, safety training and industrial hygiene monitoring techniques required.
• Certified Safety Professional or Certified Utility Safety Administrator preferred.
Key Technical Competencies:
• Knowledge of all appropriate electric utility safety/health regulations including:, National Electric Safety Code, National Fire Code, ND Workforce Safety and Insurance, American National Safety Institute (ANSI) Codes, Mine Safety and Health Act (MSHA), and Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHA).
• Knowledge and understanding of the practical operational aspects of industrial facilities and broad knowledge of hazard control, injury prevention, and property damage control.
• Ability to develop and instruct safety/health training programs, maintains records, and maintains compliance within an organization.
• Ability to conduct research, interprets safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and effectively communicates verbally or in writing.
• Knowledge, skills and ability to use personal computers
• Ability to effectively promote safety and health programs. Must be physically able to perform the essential functions of the job.
