2009 Birdcam Timeline


March 9: The falcons returned to the nest box for the third consecutive year, and their courting took place.

April 9: First egg laid.

April 11: Second egg laid.

April 13: Third egg laid.

April 13: Fourth egg laid.

May 19: All four eggs hatched.

June 9: Working with the Raptor Resource Project the eyasses were brought down for banding. Some students from the Rogers Middle School, Rogers MN– Environmental After School Group attended the banding and helped name the eyasses. 1 female - Bella (74/D), 3 males - Roger (D/70), Royal (D/87), Edward (D/88)

June 17: Unfortunately the female eyass Bella died from a micro-organism called Frounce.

June 18: The three remaining male eyasses were immediately treated with Spartrix tablets (an antibiotic) and remained healthy.

August 23: The male falcon was last seen at the nest box.
