Touchstone Energy volunteers worked in State Parks Saturday
(October 9, 2000) - Volunteers worked in a variety of state parks Saturday as part of Project GreenTouch. The project, sponsored by 40 Minnesota Touchstone Energy® electric cooperatives, is part of a three-year sponsorship to help spruce up and revitalize our state park system. Saturday’s fall clean up day, was the second GreenTouch day this year following a successful spring campaign where over 300 volunteers spent over 1,500 hours working in State parks.
Touchstone Energy electric cooperatives signed a three year contract with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources offering to help with the State Parks through 2002. The contract gives the parks funding for printing the state park guide and utilizes electric cooperative employees’ and members’ volunteer efforts. The next GreenTouch volunteer day is scheduled for May of 2001.
