Contributions & sponsorships

Great River Energy is not only a utility that generates electricity for our customers; we’re a corporate citizen that recognizes we can have an impact on the communities we serve beyond our business purpose.

Each year, we make grants to and partner with organizations that have a positive impact on our communities and member consumers through contributions and sponsorships.

If you have never partnered with Great River Energy or have recently learned about our company, please take some time to browse our website and familiarize yourself with us. We encourage all companies, organizations and non-profits to obtain a solid understanding of Great River Energy and our mission, vision, overall goals and current projects. Then, if you think your organization’s program or sponsorship opportunity is in good alignment for Great River Energy, we welcome you to complete our contribution or sponsorship application process.

What’s the difference between a Sponsorship and a Contribution?

Before you apply for a Great River Energy sponsorship, please review the following description of the difference between a sponsorship and a contribution. Please submit no more than one application in total (i.e., do not apply for both a sponsorship and a contribution).

Sponsorships:

Sponsorships are financial support in exchange for promotional, entertainment and community relations value for Great River Energy. Commonly, our sponsorships are paid to a for-profit or non-profit organization to fund a specific event, function or program. We hope to maximize our visibility and messages through participation as a sponsor of an event. Sponsorship proposals that present the opportunity for Great River Energy to educate the event’s attendees about energy issues will be given priority consideration.

Contribution:

A contribution is a charitable donation of money to a specific non-profit organization. Great River Energy offers contributions as a way to identify financial needs within its member cooperatives’ service areas by accepting applications from non-profit organizations. Contributions can include small community-based efforts and are not necessarily intended to increase company visibility.
